Does Dr. Cole accept insurance?
It’s not that we don’t accept insurance, but rather, insurance doesn’t cover what we do. The functional medicine approach is considered above the standard of care and therefore elective as far as the insurance industry is concerned. Please read this article Dr. Cole has written for a more detailed explanation: The Insurance Model
We do everything we can to make sure Functional Medicine is affordable and available to everyone; this includes offering affordable, interest-free payment plans.

Dr. Cole does not charge per appointment. He creates customized, all-inclusive plans for each individual. The plan and length of time needed to properly address your health concerns is determined after the initial consultation.
What Type of Cases Does Dr. Cole Work With?
We don’t turn any case away that we believe we can help. Generally, our main focus is on helping people who have chronic digestive and autoimmune issues, but we have also helped people with the following conditions:
- Thyroid Disorders
- Digestive Problems
- Hormone Imbalances
- Diabetes
- Weight Loss Resistance
- Chronic Fatigue
- Fibromyalgia
- Chemical Sensitivities
- Peripheral Neuropathy
- Chronic Pain Syndromes
What is Dr. Cole’s Philosophy on Lab Tests?
Test, don’t guess. BUT that being said, it’s easy for practitioners to run thousands of dollars worth of tests based on what is available today. The tests that would be recommended are ONLY the ones that will actually dictate different treatment protocols. After the in-depth first consultation, the doctor typically only needs to run a minimal number of tests.
What is Dr. Cole’s Philosophy on Supplements?
Less is more. Dr. Cole believes that most of our nutrition should come from whole food sources in our diet. There is a time and place for supplementation (especially when detoxing the body from sources like heavy metals and mold), but supplements and herbaceuticals can NEVER replace dietary shortcomings.
